Ramadan Crafting

A huge thank you to SeekingTaqwa for being my muse and never failing to inspire me whether in the kitchen or with craft activities! I really need to find a way of learning how to crochet though…

Today I finally made the time to sit down with the children and do some messy Ramadan crafting – we made cards and the Ramadan calendar which can be seen on her blog.

Here is our effort:

It is huge and is taking up pride of place on the first wall you see as you enter the lounge – really brightens up the place and all that gold glitter gives a special, Ramadany touch.

We are all feeling happy with our effort but now, off to vaccuum!

  6. Hey Salaams!
I like the art that you have done; it reminded me of being a kid again and getting messy with glitter paint and glue :D

  7. Salam,
It is always good to do crafts with children and especially for special occasions like Ramadan.
The calendar looks great. Good job! :)

  8. Rainbow in the grey sky

    mashaAllah very nice sister!

  9. t’barak’allah, very beautiful!
thanks for your comment and the advice. is it really not good to have Allah’s name on a prayer mat lying on the floor? so we will use it as a wall decoration.
    Barak Allahu Feek!

  10. Salam, it’s beautiful mashaAllah! I’ve been unsure of what craft to make for ramadan, so now i have something exciting to try! May Allah accept our good deeds of this holy month inshaAllah. take care.

  11. very nice! doesn’t seem messy to me at all.

  12. Assalaamu alaikum,

Marahm: Brings a smile to my face too everytime I walk past it!

Umm Adam: I don’t normally do much arty stuff with the children but decided I should do some things with them during Ramadan.

    Niyaz: Aw, masha’Allah!

SeekingTaqwa: Jazakillahu khair to you again for inspiring me. :)

Eng. Hasan Al-Bahkali: Ramadan Mubaarak to you also; thank you for stopping by.

Cookie Monster: Its fun acting like a kid sometimes and getting your hands mucky!

~W~: You’re right; even if you don’t do much of this kind of stuff the rest of the year at least do something during Ramadan to make it a bit special.

    Rainbow: Thanks sis. :)

Itto: The felting you made with the girls would make a really beautiful wall-hanging; you’ll get to see it everyday at any time of day.

Mona UmIbrahim: Ameen to your du’a. :) I have been searching for some other craft activities to do with my 4 year old and can’t wait to get started on our next project insha’Allah – tissue mosaic mosques.

UmmAbdurRahman: I should have taken photographs of the dining table, kitchen table and floor! Pieces of tissue papaer and glitter everywhere! Oh and paint all over the back yard as the children were painting (themselves) earlier in the day too!
