Finally after 10 long hours we got through the checkpoint; alhamdu lillah!
wow subhanallah! are you driving alone or with a group?
It is a bus hamla but we chose to take our car as far as the outskirts of makkah instead of using the bus.
Exhaustion reigns!
Subhan Allah. I’ve never seen such long queues at checkpoints. Are they checking every single car? The 1st two times we went, I don’t remember queues at all. The last time (five years ago) was on the day of ‘Arafah and no one checked anything. I think they’re a lot stricter these days.
Yes, they were checking car by car! It seems that it was only our meeqat that suffered in this way and only on that day! I asked people who arrived the day before and they said they queued for a couple of hours. I guess the day before Arafah is the main day for locals to arrive and added to that As Sayl is the meeqat for Kuwait, Qatar and UAE as well as the middle and east of KSA so there were a LOT of buses and cars to be checked!
We drove alone and met our hamla at Mina. We decided it would be better for little ‘un if we used our car rather than taking her on the bus.
